At the Faculty of Law and Economics of Zhetysu University named after I.Zhansugurov, a new Center for the Study of Law, Ecosystems, and Sustainable Development has been officially opened.
During the inauguration ceremony, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Baurzhan Taubaev, delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of the newly established center.
“This center was established within the framework of program-targeted funding by the Committee of Science under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as part of the project “Modern Challenges in the Regulation of Land Relations: Historical and Legal Analysis”. The center will contribute to the implementation of state policy in the fields of law, ecosystems, and sustainable development, as well as the integration of comprehensive research findings into academic discourse,” the Vice-Rector noted.
The main objective of the center is to study land relations in the region, analyze their economic significance, and explore the development and evolution of land ownership forms and agricultural structures across various historical stages. The center will also address issues related to the realization of land ownership and usage rights, public land resource management, the efficiency of agricultural land turnover, and the development of economic mechanisms for regulating land relations. In addition, the center will conduct legal research on environmental safety in the context of land use and will prepare proposals for amendments and additions to land and environmental legislation.
The project is headed by Doctor of Law and Professor Lazzat Yerkinbayeva.
